If a registrar change or registrant transfer requires a handshake, the registrar on to which the domain name is to be moved will receive an authorisation email. This email contains the text required to accept or reject the request.

Guidelines

• The authorisation request contains the all the text required to accept or reject the request. Other text can be stripped out either by hand or automatically.
• Requests not responded to within 5 working days will be automatically rejected.

Instructions

• Send to the address applications@nic.uk.
  
• Use a subject line of TAG Receive (replace TAG with your tag name in capital letters) or TAG RT Receive. 
• To accept a request, strip out all text except that between the two lines 'START OF ACCEPT TEMPLATE --' and 'END OF ACCEPT TEMPLATE --'
• To reject a request, strip out all text except that between the two lines 'START OF REJECT TEMPLATE --' and 'END OF REJECT TEMPLATE --'
• Make sure the email is PGP-signed with a registered PGP key.
• Send the email to applications@nic.uk. Replying to the authorisation request will have this result.

The following is an example of a reply to a successful receive operation to accept a registrar change:

    automaton-testn.co.uk

If the Registrar Change is successfully processed then you will shortly
receive a notification of this.
