Renewals

The renewals procedure requires registrars to decide before expiry which domain names they want to renew on behalf of their customers. Renewing a domain name extends the expiry date by two years.

Registrars can renew a domain name on their tag on behalf of the registrant up to six months before its expiry date by submitting a renewal request through our registrar systems. When we receive a renewal request the expiry date will be wound forward two years.

If you would like further information on the renewals system, full details of our current renewals procedure are available. We are planning a series of new features and changes to the renewals process. These changes are scheduled to be completed in February 2009.
